The production process of Ledóchowski mesh or expanded metal involves cutting and stretching the sheet metal with knives during a single machine cycle. This results in a lattice structure with a “toothed” surface. From one linear meter of raw material, we obtain a significantly larger amount of mesh without any waste, with adjustable parameters such as stretch, bridge thickness, and aperture.
Expanded metal has a unique spatial structure that provides stiffness and exceptional visual properties. Thanks to these characteristics, expanded metal finds applications in various industries, from decorative to precision industrial products. The ability to use a wide range of sheet materials and the absence of movable joint points ensure durability and parameter stability.
In some applications, the spatial nature of Ledóchowski mesh may not be desirable, so we offer a rolling (flattening) service for the mesh. This process allows us to achieve a uniform flat surface, comparable to perforated sheets. However, unlike perforated sheets, the mesh is produced without any waste, making it a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly material.
Expanded metal is also known by other names, such as Ledóchowski mesh, expanded metal, stretch gitter, or expanded metal sheet.
